Andy Smith

Mr. Smith is a Partner and Senior Managing Director with The McLean Group, a middle market investment bank. He manages the firm’s business valuation practice and supports its M&A practice, Mr. Smith has a broad background of experience, including public accounting, investment banking, and financial operations management. His career began with KPMG Peat Marwick where he served as a corporate finance and audit manager in its Washington DC, Moscow, Russia, and Almaty, Kazakhstan offices. He later joined Washington Equity Partners as an associate director where he assisted in various international wireless telecommunications transactions. He also worked with a strategic advisory group to Lucent Technologies and was formerly the director of finance of a wireless telecom services company.

Mr. Smith is a graduate of the University of Richmond’s E. Claiborne School of Business. He is a Certified Public Accountant, Accredited in Business Valuation, Accredited Senior Appraiser, Certified Valuation Analyst, and Certified Management Accountant. He is a Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) registered representative and financial and operations principal (Series 7, 28, and 63). Mr. Smith is a frequent author on business valuation topics and has been a national instructor on business valuation. Mr. Smith is also an Adjunct Professor with George Mason University’s MBA Program.
