Parnell Black
Parnell Black, MBA, CPA, CVA is the Chief Executive Officer and Co-Founder of the National Association of Certified Valuation Analysts (NACVA).
Since its establishment in 1991, NACVA has trained over 20,000 financial professionals. NACVA’s membership has grown to over 7,000 in its 18 years serving the many of the business consulting community’s most important consulting niches. Under Mr. Black’s leadership, NACVA has created over 70 training programs in valuation, financial forensics, litigation support, mergers and acquisitions, and other areas of business consulting, all offered through its training arm, the Consultants’ Training Institute (CTI).
With long-time NACVA member, Dennis J. Roberts, CPA/ABV, CVA of the well known investment bank, The McLean Group, Mr. Black facilitated the development of the Middle Market Investment Banking Association (MMIBA), an organization dedicated to supporting practitioners in the field of mergers and acquisitions. The MMIBA offers a variety of webinars and live training and sponsors the Certified Mergers and Acquisitions Professional (CMAP) credential.
Over ten years ago, Mr. Black partnered with the Financial Forensics Institute (FFI) to develop a financial forensics training and certification program that leads to the Certified Forensic Financial Analyst (CFFA) credential. This popular program has grown to now incorporate five different areas of specialization: financial litigation; forensic accounting; business and intellectual property damages; business fraud deterrence, detection, and investigation; and matrimonial litigation support.
NACVA was named one of the elite Inc. 500 Fastest Growing Private Companies in America in 1998 and earned the Utah 100 Fastest Growing Companies in Utah four years in a row: 1997–2000. Mr. Black has been the recipient of the prestigious "Top 100 of Accounting Today’s Most Influential People in the Accounting Profession" award for the past twelve years in a row: 2000–2011.
