CMAP® Certification
Limited transitional admission period: For a limited period of time, the Middle Market Investment Banking Association® (MMIBA®) is opening its doors to recruit the best and the brightest
into its fold. Ideal candidates must: 1) possess the proper training and/or experience, 2) have obtained a credible and recognized credential in a field directly related to the merger
and acquisition (M&A) practice or demonstrate skills useful in the M&A discipline, 3) are a member in good standing with The Middle Market Investment Bankers Association (MMIBA) or the
National Association of Certified Valuators and Analysts (NACVA) (see Benefits of Membership), and 4) have provided the proper references. You can become a Chartered Merger and Acquisition
Professional (CMAP) if the above criteria is met and upon successful completion of a two-hour certification exam (not our standard four-hour exam) administered online, in your office,
at your convenience. Practitioners who carry the Certified Merger and Acquisition Advisor (CM&AA), the Certified Business Intermediary (CBI), Merger & Acquisition Master Intermediary
(M&AMI), or any other recognized M&A credential, are exempt from the two-hour exam and may obtain the CMAP credential by joining as a Practitioner Member and completing the CMAP
certification application. These individuals are required to meet the prerequisite criteria as noted above, and show proof that their M&A credential is current. This window of
opportunity expires December 31, 2011. To obtain the proper forms:
